Friday, March 23 - Parent's Night Out

The youth group of Centre Presbyterian Church is hosting a Parent's Night Out. This is a fundraising event for their upcoming Week of Hope mission trip to Ohio. An adult will be assigned to each group of kids. There will be a movie room, game rooms and a toddler and infant room. Due to allergy concerns parents are asked to pack and label clearly any snacks they want for their kids.  The church is located directly off exit 33 from I-77. There are many restaurants nearby.

WORLD OF WONDER MARCH EVENT:  “Let’s Go Fly a Kite!” Saturday, March 24.  April is “National Kite Month,” and, in anticipation, WOW is offering a kite-making and (if conditions are good) kite flying event.  This is open to children with their families--all ages--limited group size.  We’ve got three different starting times:  (a) 10:30 a. m.; (b) 11:10 a.m.; (c) 11:50 a.m.  All materials will be provided.  There will be different kites (and wind socks) of varying skill levels.

 Winter schedule now in effect!  Market will be open 2nd and 4th Saturdays every month.  Come check out this weekly farmers market! Lake Norman Wildlife Conservatists will be at the WOW Booth at the Davidson Farmer's Market from 9-11 to build "fairy houses" and talk about all the requirements for being a certified backyard habitat as well as other information about their projects and events around the Lake.

Millbridge Elementary is holding it's first 5K and 1/2 mile fun run.  Awards will be given to the Top 3 overall Male & Female Runners.  Awards will also be given to the top 3 overall, Age 12 and under. Medals will be given to all other Fun Run finishers.Timing and scoring will be done by Salisbury Rowan Runners.

Saturday, March 31 - Natural Egg Dyeing at Rural Hill

Come out to the farm for a great day of educational fun with the staff and volunteers of Historic Rural Hill as we demonstrate how everyday materials can be used to dye eggs for the Easter Holiday! Great fun for young and old alike, learn how and why normal eggs were dyed and decorated in the days before plastic. Students will be given the opportunity to dye eggs using three methods, full soak, wax resist, and contact resist. Even better, once the day is done each student will be invited on a group hayride and have their own basket of naturally dyed eggs to take home and keep.

Saturday, April 7 - Latta Plantation: Easter Egg Hunt

Join us on April 7th, 2012 for the 6th Annual Latta Plantation Easter Egg Hunt! Children ages 1-10 can hunt for toy and candy filled eggs across the plantation grounds. Each hunt time will include three separate hunt areas, and many grand prize eggs will be hidden for each group throughout the day! Grand prizes include Easter baskets, summer camp scholarships, family memberships, and more! Before and after your hunt time, you can visit the farm animals, listen to live music by the carriage barn, get a free Easter tattoo, make a chick craft to take home, and explore the plantation house and grounds. Families are welcome to bring a picnic.
