Don't miss The Great Chili Cook-Off October 3rd!

September 29, 2015

This is a "CAN'T MISS" event!

My family attended last year, and we had such a great time.  All of the Chili Cook-Off contestants were so excited to be there, and getting to taste all the various chili recipes not only filled us up, but gave me some great ideas for my chili at home.  My kids had so much fun in the Kid Zone, we had a hard time getting them to leave.  This is a guaranteed fun day for your family with the chili tasting, many (many) vendors, the kid zone, and you get to wrap the night up listening to great bands.  So come hungry, grab your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a fun day in Mooresville!  Admission is only $10, and kids under 9 are free!   -Stacie!

Saturday, October 3rd from 4pm - 9pm at Mooresville Towne Square, 279 Williamson Road, Mooresville.  For more info, visit the website HERE!

Taste more chili than ever before,  wash it down with some cold Budweiser, a chilled glass of wine or a freshly squeezed lemonade and rock out to the live music from incredible bands.

Take in the food and craft vendors, hang out with your kids in the HUGE Inflatables Kids Zone and enjoy a fun-filled time at the 7th Annual Great Chili Cook-Off.

Come early if chili is your draw – when the chili is gone, it’s gone, but the bands rock on with vendors and a HUGE Kids Zone to keep everyone entertained way past dark.

If you’re coming for the chili, don’t just taste it – pick your favorite and vote it into the running for the “People’s Choice” award. Cookers covet the People’s Choice award just as much as the Judges’ Choice so your vote could be an important tiebreaker!

As for the official contest, judges will scrutinize every chili in a blind tasting and make their selections based on taste, texture and seasonings. It is a hard-fought competition with First prize in the Home Town Cooker category taking home $2,500, $1,000 for second prize and $500 for third. Custom hardwood cutting boards with an engraved inscription are presented to the winners for Home Town Cooker, People’s Choice and the Best Restaurant Chili.

Event Admission is only $10 and kids 9 and under get in free.

Paid admission includes all of the chili tastings, entertainment and Kids Zone. Unfortunately, free kid’s admission does not include chili tastings but if your little one loves chili maybe you can share your samples with them, or you can buy them a ticket and they can vote for their favorite chili too.

All proceeds from this event benefit local programs such as Health Reach, Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), The School Backpack Project, and other charities supported by the four Rotary clubs hosting the event. The 2014 event attracted over 4,000 people and $50,000 for charities supported by Rotary.

The Great Chili Cook-Off is hosted by The Rotary Clubs of Mooresville, Mooresville-Lake Norman, Top of the Lake, and Troutman.

The band won’t stop playing till the last prize is awarded, the last funnel cake is served and the last child has jumped off the inflatable slide. So come early, stay late and support your Community!!!
