Snow White and the Seven Minions is adapted from the original Grimm tale by Artistic Director, Dr. Wrenn Goodrum. This audience participation play for families aged 3 – 103 has taken the Grimm out of the story making it fun for all with a few lessons thrown in. As the story goes, the jealous Queen, wanting to be the ‘fairest one of all’, asks the huntsman to take Snow White into the forest and ‘do away with her’. Lucky for Snow White, she finds the cottage of seven Minions whom she teaches to read. Unlucky for Snow White, the Queen discovers her hiding place. When Snow White takes a bite of a poison apple she falls into a deep sleep. Back at the castle the Queen is finally happy to be the ‘fairest one of all’. However, the Mirror tells her ‘being the fairest one of all doesn’t last very long in the face of bad acts because soon your nose will grow long and curl into tiny knots and your skin will turn lumpish and green and your hair will fall out and tiny worms will take its place, because, you see, Queen Grimhilde, beauty and ‘fairness’ come from within your heart.’ The Queen quickly sees the error of her ways and leads the Prince and King to the Minions cottage. The Prince with the help of the audience wakes Snow White with a kiss. Members of the audience also help change the set, act as the forest, dance with the Minions and save Snow White. FREE Pre-Show Activities start 30 minutes before every show. Activities include: Learning the Minion Dance, Minion language, put the banana in the tree and others.
