In His Steps Presents “Amazin’ GRACE Summer Camps"
In His Steps, a non-profit ministry for girls in its 78h year, continues to offer free events for the community. This year they are bringing their “Amazin’ GRACE” summer camp to several locations in our area. The dates and locations can be found on their website HERE!
In His Steps says the summer camps started as a way to reach out to girls and provide events that were free of charge. This year, the FREE camps will dance, learn more about how Christ wants us to live our lives full of grace, games and lots of fun~
Donna Smith, founder of In His Steps, said the camps provide the girls with fun, inspiring and appropriate dance moves and teach them how to apply biblical lessons to their lives. “In a time where many activities are so expensive, our summer camps are created so the girls can invite their friends, dance and hang out in a safe place, that doesn't cost their family a thing,” Smith said.
In addition to hosting the summer camps, In His Steps Dance offers weekly dance classes free of charge, along with spiritual development through biblical-based devotions. The ministry focuses on giving girls a safe place to learn about Christ, as well as to develop a positive self-image and share the challenges they face on a daily basis in their lives. In a time when many dance studios focus heavily on girls’ bodies, appearance and technical ability, Smith said she wants to cultivate a safe environment where everyone is appreciated no matter how they look, their economic status or how skilled they actually are at dance.
