Seussical Review
Don't miss this CTC performance!
Seussical was the buzz word Friday night, during breakfast and all the way down I77 to Children’s Theatre of Charlotte (CTC) inside Imaginon late Saturday morning. Our four year old, Carson was so excited to be going to be going “out” solo with mom and dad. No little brother – this show’s for big boys.
Like all parents we ask our little ones if they have to go potty prior to a long car ride, before church, and in our case, a play! Well, what a bathroom trip it was! Carson and Troy, my husband, bumped into The Cat in the Hat in the main hallway getting ready to make his entrance into the audience! He gave Carson a great BIG smile and “hello!” Well that little meeting kicked off what was an amazing CTC production of Seussical!
We all agreed that The Cat in the Hat’s character was spot on! From his make-up to his voice, we never doubted he was our favorite hat wearing cat! His trusty side-kicks, Thing 1 and Thing 2 were as cute as always with their crazy blue hair and smiling faces! The three “narrated” and inserted themselves into the many Dr. Seuss stories that makes Seussical so fun and familiar to families.
Sitting there, I could not get over the costumes! AMAZING! I felt like I was sitting in Las Vegas – sounds weird, but seriously, the feathers, glitzy ensembles and make-up were superb! My favorites were the birds, which included The Amazing Mayzie and Gertrude McFuzz and the sassy kangaroos from Horton Hears a Who. Vibrant colors from head to toe – so well done!
The singing and dancing was just as impressive! The animals from the Jungle of Nool and citizens of Whoville, including The Grinch, danced and sang, animating the stage from start to finish! Carson was mesmerized with hands in lap the entire time! The only question he asked was, “Where is Nick and Sally?” He decided that they need to make another play and include them next time!
Seussical brings all our favorite stories and characters alive! From Green Eggs and Ham to The Grinch Stole Christmas – it is a must see! Don’t miss this opportunity to share this amazing CTC production with your children! Get your tickets today, playing now through Sunday, October 23! www.ctcharlotte.org/Seussical
