Showing through May 3rd!

Everyone’s favorite feline in the red-and-white hat brings his mischief and wacky adventures to Children’s Theatre of Charlotte with “Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat.” The play runs April 10-May 3. It is recommended for all ages.

Speaking only in rhyme, the Cat in the Hat shows Sally and her brother that “it’s fun to have fun, but you have to know how,” despite the misgivings of their well-mannered Fish. All your favorite Dr. Seuss moments come to life in this crazy, colorful romp for the whole family.

“A very good friend of mine recently asked me … if I could explain the moral of the story, because she was having a difficult time understanding it,” said director Adam Burke, also CTC’s artistic director. “In the end, I told my friend that I don’t think every play needs a moral. Some plays and stories are simply fun. And fun and laughter are a necessary component of being healthy and human whether you are young or old.”

“Cat in the Hat” stars Caleb Ryan Sigmon as the Cat and Margaret Dalton as Sally. Chester Shepherd (Boy) and Mark Sutton (Fish), who were recently seen at CTC in “Jackie & Me,” return for “Cat.” Make sure you arrive early for the show, as the Cat and his friends interact with the audience.

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte is located at ImaginOn and is a national leader among theatres for young audiences, serving nearly 300,000 young people and families annually with professional productions and innovative education initiatives.
