School is back in full swing and the first words out of my children's mouths when they get home is, 'What's for Dinner?" Ugh, the dreaded words no parent wants to hear. I'm sure you can agree that planning all the meals for the household can be hectic and draining.
So what does this frazzled mom do? Smithfield to the rescue! With Smithfield's line of fresh pork products, that are already seasoned and marinated, all you have to do is open the bag and sauté. Add some veggies on the side and voila, you have dinner. We threw a dinner party with our friends to decide which flavor was the best. Our choices were Hickory Smoked Brown Sugar Pork Chops, Hardwood Roasted Garlic and Cracked Black Pepper Tenderloin, and Steakhouse Mushroom Marinated Fresh Pork Loin Filet. . We sautéed everything, except for the pork-chops, which were grilled. Everything was ready about the same time. From start to finish, our meal took 30 minutes to prepare.
I'm a traditionalist when it comes to eating marinated meat and I like to taste the flavor. So the meat is the highlight of the meal and we compliment it with various sides. For this meal, we prepared steamed broccoli, loaded mashed potatoes, and a salad. It was obvious that the star of the dinner party was the pork.
The voting was tabulated and the winner was the Steakhouse Mushroom Marinated Fresh Pork Loin Filet. I don't like the flavor of mushrooms, but this rocked! I would never have thought I would like it so much.
Overall, all of my guests, including one who doesn't like pork, raved about the flavor and easiness of preparation of the meats. I whole-heartedly fell in love with this product and can't wait to incorporate more Smithfield pork products into my monthly dinner rotation.
Smithfield Fresh Marinated Pork products can be found locally at Publix and Walmart. Even though I'm a traditionalist, doesn't' mean you can't mix it up and make a recipe that incorporates the meat in a different way. You can find some recipes for inspiration HERE.
